距離2016年大選投票日已倒數計時，「棄保」傳言和「分裂投票」的說法開始發酵。對此，國民黨總統候選人朱立倫今天(12日)表示，選戰進行到最後階段，各種干擾因素都會出現，他呼籲選民堅定信念，無論是總統選票、立委選票或政黨票都要支持國民黨。
距離2016年總統與立委大選投票已倒數4天，媒體報導指出，政黨票競爭激烈，國民黨面臨政黨票可能被新黨瓜分的情況，親民黨也開始操作「棄保效應」。
面對票源可能分散，國民黨總統候選人朱立倫12日受訪時表示，選戰到最後關頭，各種干擾因素都開始發酵，選民一定要堅定信念支持國民黨。他說：『(原音)我想選舉到最後各種干擾因素，大家就堅定信念、集中選票。我們總統支持朱立倫，立委支持國民黨提名的候選人，政黨票支持國民黨。(記者：擔憂棄保效應？)我想最後我們很多泛藍選民都會集中選票支持朱立倫。』
有政治評論員表示某卸任的院長級人物呼籲要支持親民黨總統候選人宋楚瑜，給宋楚瑜最後一次溫暖。對此，朱立倫回應他沒有聽過這樣的說法，他並指出，選戰愈到最後關頭，就會有愈多傳言，他呼籲選民集中選票支持朱立倫。
另外，宋楚瑜11日到慈湖謁陵時，批評許多政治人物經常到寺廟參香，但是心中沒有佛祖、沒有慈悲。朱立倫則表示，他相信只要一切為人民、為國家，不是為權力，佛祖就會保佑。
